Seventh Grade Student from Karachi Develops Smart Stick to Help Blind People

A seventh-grade student from Karachi, Radhe Krishna, has developed a smart walking stick to support people who are visually impaired. His device can sense obstacles from up to three feet away and gives sound and vibration alerts that become stronger as the person gets closer to an object. This helps users move safely without hitting anything in their path.

Radhe created all the components on his own and has priced the smart stick at Rs15,000. He is already working on the next version, which will include GPS so users can receive audio directions. He also plans to improve the stick’s balance and its ability to detect objects at ground level for even better safety.

His innovation was displayed at the Bachaapreneur competition, where many young students showcased creative and meaningful ideas. The project highlights how talented and thoughtful young innovators in Pakistan are finding ways to solve real problems in society.
