Internet Services Disrupted Nationwide aa Users Face Difficulties

Internet services across Pakistan faced fresh problems on Thursday after a technical fault occurred at a major upstream internet provider. As a result, users in many parts of the country experienced slow speeds, unstable connections, and difficulty accessing online services throughout the day.

Internet service provider Nayatel confirmed that one of its two upstream providers went offline, which caused internet traffic to be affected in several cities. This disruption reduced overall network performance, leading to delays in browsing, streaming, and other online activities. Nayatel said its technical teams are in constant coordination with the upstream provider to resolve the issue, but no clear timeframe for full restoration has been announced yet.

Technology experts pointed out that such disruptions can have a serious impact on daily life, as many essential services now depend on a stable internet connection. Online banking, video calls, remote work, social media, and digital communication all suffer during outages like this. The incident has once again highlighted Pakistan’s strong dependence on a small number of upstream internet providers, making the country’s digital infrastructure vulnerable to widespread disruptions when technical failures occur.
