Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a grant of Rs 10 billion for the Frontier Corps to improve its capacity and strengthen security operations in Balochistan.
The announcement came during her recent visit to the province after a series of violent incidents. Her visit also followed the launch of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1, which aims to control militancy and restore peace in affected areas.
She said the additional funds would help the Frontier Corps enhance training, equipment, and operational readiness to better deal with security challenges.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Balochistan is facing serious threats that require strong and united action. She spoke about the dangers of fifth-generation warfare, explaining that modern conflicts are not only fought with weapons but also through misinformation, propaganda, and attempts to create division within society. She stressed that the country must stay alert to these tactics.
The chief minister also called for political clarity and national unity. She urged leaders from all parties to stand together against militancy and avoid sending mixed messages that could weaken efforts to maintain peace. According to her, unity among political forces and institutions is essential to defeat extremist elements.
She reaffirmed her government’s commitment to supporting security forces and ensuring stability in Balochistan.
The Rs 10 billion grant is intended to strengthen coordination and improve the overall security environment in the province, helping protect both citizens and national interests.
