Construction of Dadocha Dam to begun by FWO in Rawalpindi

The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) will soon begin the construction of the Dadocha Dam near Rawalpindi’s Dadocha Village, and construction teams have been mobilized along with the machinery to the execution site.

Once completed, the dam would supply the residents of Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas with 35 million gallons of water every day.

The dam’s total storage capacity is 60,000 acre-feet, while the storage capability of the dead level is 15,000 acre-feet and the live storage capacity would be 45,000 acre-feet.

In Rawalpindi, the groundwater level is decreasing and dams need to be installed to cater the city’s water requirements.

Moreover, Dadocha Dam would contribute to the biodiversity of the region, increase the green cover and will double as a tourist spot for the twin cities.
