The United States Embassy in Islamabad has announced that all immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled from March 9 to March 13 have been cancelled.
This means that people who planned to visit the embassy during these dates for visa interviews or other visa-related appointments will not be able to attend as planned.
The embassy has not provided detailed reasons for the cancellation, but it described the suspension as temporary.
Applicants who were scheduled for appointments during this period are advised to regularly check their email accounts. The embassy will send updates about new appointment dates and any further instructions directly to applicants.
Even though visa appointments are cancelled for these few days, some services will still continue. The embassy confirmed that routine and emergency consular services for U.S. citizens in Islamabad will remain available. This means that American citizens who need assistance, such as passport services or em
ergency help, can still contact the embassy.
At the same time, visa and consular services at the United States Consulate General Karachi and the United States Consulate General Lahore are still suspended.
Officials said that these services will remain closed until further notice, and there is currently no clear timeline for when they will restart.
People who are waiting for visa appointments are encouraged to stay patient and follow official updates. The embassy emphasized that applicants should rely only on official messages and announcements for accurate information about rescheduling and future appointments.
