All Foreign Airlines Flying to Pakistan Instructed To Bring Fuel For Return, Pakistan Airports Authority

The Pakistan Airports Authority has instructed all foreign airlines operating flights to Pakistan to carry extra fuel for their return journeys. This directive was issued through a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), outlining new fuel requirements for international flights.

According to airline sources, the decision has already started affecting flight operations. In one case, a flight traveling from Karachi to Doha had to make an emergency stop in Muscat to refuel. This unexpected stop caused delays and inconvenience for passengers on board.

Due to the new fuel policy, some foreign airlines are now adjusting their operations. Reports suggest that in order to manage the extra fuel load, certain carriers are leaving behind passengers or reducing cargo to stay within aircraft weight limits. This has created difficulties for travelers, especially those with confirmed bookings.

Airlines are concerned about the operational challenges caused by the directive. Carrying extra fuel increases aircraft weight, which can impact efficiency, costs, and passenger capacity. It may also lead to schedule disruptions and longer travel times in some cases.

The move is believed to be a precautionary measure, possibly linked to safety or operational planning. However, it has raised questions among airlines and passengers about its impact on travel convenience.
