All Pakistani Airlines Increase Fares 100% After Skyrocketing Fuel Prices

Air travel in Pakistan has become much more expensive as airlines sharply increase ticket prices due to rising fuel costs. Aviation sources confirm that both domestic and international fares have gone up across major cities like Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

For local travel, one-way ticket prices from Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore now range between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000. This is nearly double the usual fare, making it difficult for many people to afford air travel. Airlines say the main reason behind this increase is the shortage and high cost of jet fuel, which is a major part of airline expenses.

International flights have also become much more costly. Tickets from Pakistan to popular destinations in the Middle East, as well as cities like Toronto, Paris, and Manchester, are now being sold for Rs 300,000 to Rs 700,000. These high prices are affecting overseas workers, students, and families planning travel.

Global fuel price changes and currency pressure are also adding to the problem. Aviation fuel is often imported, so any increase in international oil prices directly impacts airlines in Pakistan.

If fuel prices remain high, airfares are likely to stay elevated, putting further pressure on passengers and the travel industry.
