PMD Warns of Nationwide Rain, Thunderstorms & Strong Winds From April 1st

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a nationwide weather alert, forecasting widespread rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms from April 1 to 4 due to the arrival of a strong westerly weather system. According to officials, the system is expected to first enter through Balochistan before gradually spreading across other parts of the country, bringing unstable weather conditions to multiple regions.

The advisory further states that Sindh, including Karachi, is likely to experience the effects of this system starting April 2, with intermittent rainfall and gusty winds expected. Other provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, may also witness varying intensities of rainfall, thunderstorms, and possible hailstorms during this period.

Authorities have warned that the changing weather conditions could lead to flash floods in vulnerable areas, particularly in low-lying regions and near water channels. Strong winds and hailstorms may also pose risks to standing crops, power infrastructure, and weak structures. In light of these potential hazards, citizens have been strongly advised to limit unnecessary travel, secure loose objects, and stay updated through official weather advisories to avoid any untoward incidents.
