Field Marshal and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Asim Munir, along with Mohsin Naqvi, has completed a three-day official visit to Iran. During the visit, they met key Iranian leaders, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The discussions mainly focused on promoting regional peace, improving security, and strengthening diplomatic relations.
Both sides highlighted the importance of dialogue and reducing tensions in the region. Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to building stronger ties with Iran and supporting peace and stability across the Middle East.
Officials from both countries stressed the need for cooperation in dealing with shared challenges and ensuring long-term regional stability. The meetings reflected a mutual understanding of the importance of peaceful engagement and collaboration.
At the same time, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is being seen as a positive development, signaling a reduction in regional tensions. This move is important for global trade and energy supply, as the strait is a key route for oil shipments.
Adding to this, former U.S. President Donald Trump appreciated Pakistan’s leadership and described these efforts as a constructive step towards global peace. Overall, the visit highlights Pakistan’s active role in promoting diplomacy, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to a more stable and peaceful region.
