The government of Pakistan has announced a further increase in fuel prices, which came into effect from April 25, 2026.
Under the new revision, the price of petrol has been raised from Rs. 366.58 per litre to Rs. 393.35 per litre. At the same time, high-speed diesel has also become more expensive, increasing from Rs. 353.42 per litre to Rs. 380.19 per litre. Both fuels have seen a rise of Rs. 26.77 per litre.
This latest increase is expected to have a widespread impact on the economy, particularly affecting transportation and logistics costs. As fuel becomes more expensive, fares for public and private transport are likely to rise, while freight charges may also increase.
The adjustment is also anticipated to contribute to inflationary pressure, potentially pushing up the prices of essential goods and services across the country as businesses and consumers adapt to the higher fuel rates.
