Chinese electric vehicle company Seres has introduced a futuristic patent featuring a hidden toilet system built inside a passenger seat for emergency use during travel.
According to reports, the system is designed to help passengers during long road trips, camping journeys, or situations where heavy traffic makes it difficult to stop. The compact toilet can slide out from under the seat either manually or through voice commands, adding a modern and convenient touch to the concept.
The design also includes a built-in ventilation system that pushes unpleasant odors outside the vehicle to maintain comfort inside the cabin. In addition, the setup contains a waste storage tank along with a heating mechanism that dries solid waste and evaporates liquid waste automatically.
Although the company has not confirmed whether the feature will appear in future production vehicles, the patent has attracted significant attention online because of its unusual and innovative design.
Industry experts say the concept reflects how China’s electric vehicle market is becoming increasingly competitive, with companies exploring advanced comfort and convenience technologies to stand out from rivals.
Modern EV manufacturers are now focusing not only on battery performance and driving range but also on passenger experience and smart lifestyle features. Many companies are introducing advanced entertainment systems, luxury interiors, AI-powered controls, and unique comfort solutions in their vehicles.
Analysts believe such experimental concepts show how rapidly the global EV industry is evolving. While some features may never reach commercial production, they often demonstrate the direction manufacturers are exploring for future mobility and travel experiences.
The patent has sparked mixed reactions online, with some people calling it innovative and practical, while others viewed it as an unusual addition to vehicle design.
