Third LNG Tanker From Qatar Arrives in Pakistan

Pakistan has received its third LNG tanker from Qatar this week, providing much-needed relief to the country’s energy sector. The vessel named Mahzam delivered 56,573 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Ras Laffan Port in Qatar to Karachi’s Port Qasim. The ship successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz and offloaded its cargo safely.

This is the third Qatari LNG shipment to arrive in Pakistan in a short period. These regular supplies are coming under long-term government-to-government agreements between Pakistan and Qatar. The fresh LNG will help improve gas supply for power plants and domestic consumers, especially during the high-demand summer season.

Energy experts say these timely imports are playing a vital role in reducing power shortages and stabilizing electricity generation across the country. The successful passage of these tankers through the Strait of Hormuz also reflects effective diplomatic coordination despite regional tensions.

The arrival of the third tanker highlights the strong and reliable energy partnership between Pakistan and Qatar. The government is working to secure more LNG cargoes in the coming months to meet the country’s growing energy needs and ensure an uninterrupted power supply for industries and households.
