Extreme Heatwave! Pakistani City Dadu Breaks10-Years TemperatureRecord After Hitting 51.5°C

The city of Dadu in Sindh has recorded an extremely high temperature of 51.5°C, breaking its previous heat record set in 2016. The intense heatwave continues to affect large parts of southern Pakistan, causing serious concern among authorities and residents.

According to weather officials, the temperature in Dadu was far above the normal levels for May. The region usually experiences hot weather during this time of year, but current conditions are much more severe than average.

Other nearby cities, including Larkana and Jacobabad, also faced extreme heat, with temperatures crossing 50°C. These unusually high readings have made daily life difficult for people in affected areas, especially those working outdoors.

Health experts warn that such extreme heat can lead to dehydration, heatstroke, and other serious health risks if proper precautions are not taken. The prolonged heatwave has increased pressure on hospitals and emergency services in some regions.

Authorities have issued repeated heatwave alerts across southern Pakistan. Citizens are being advised to avoid going outside during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and stay in shaded or cool places as much as possible.

People are also being encouraged to check on elderly family members and children, who are more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Officials say the heatwave is expected to continue for some time, and further precautionary measures may be needed if temperatures remain high. They have urged the public to follow safety guidelines and stay updated with weather advisories.

Meteorologists believe changing climate patterns are contributing to more frequent and intense heatwaves in the region, making such extreme weather events more common in recent years across Pakistan’s southern districts overall conditions remain challenging.
