Pakistan Govt Announces Jet Fuel Price Cut to Rs. 283.52 After Rs. 48.80 Reduction

Pakistan has announced significant relief for the aviation industry by reducing jet fuel prices by Rs. 48.80 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs. 283.52 per liter, according to an official notification issued by Pakistan State Oil (PSO).

The substantial decrease is expected to ease financial pressure on airlines, which have been facing high operational costs due to elevated fuel prices. Aviation experts believe the reduction could eventually translate into lower airfares for passengers, making domestic and international travel more affordable.

Jet fuel is one of the largest expenses for airlines, often accounting for a major portion of overall operating costs. The latest price cut is therefore being viewed as a positive development for the country’s aviation sector, which has been working to recover from economic challenges and fluctuating fuel prices.

The move comes shortly after the government announced reductions in petrol and diesel prices, reflecting a broader trend of fuel price adjustments aimed at providing relief to businesses and consumers while helping to curb inflationary pressures.

In recent years, jet fuel prices reached record highs due to global energy market volatility, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical tensions that pushed up crude oil prices worldwide. The latest reduction is expected to improve the financial outlook for airlines and support the growth of air travel in Pakistan.

Industry stakeholders have welcomed the decision, expressing hope that the lower fuel costs will contribute to increased flight operations, improved connectivity, and greater affordability for travelers across the country.
