Pakistan has set an ambitious target of deploying around 400,000 skilled workers for upcoming infrastructure and development projects linked to the preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2034. According to official planning directions, the initiative is aimed at strengthening the country’s overseas employment footprint while positioning Pakistani labor in large-scale construction, logistics, and technical services required for the tournament’s host-nation development drive.
Officials indicate that the strategy focuses on training and certifying workers in high-demand fields such as construction engineering, electrical work, HVAC systems, project management, and hospitality services. The move is expected to boost remittances, create employment opportunities, and enhance the global reputation of Pakistan’s workforce, while also aligning vocational training programs with international standards required for mega sporting infrastructure projects.
