Andrzej Bargiel has achieved a historic milestone by skiing from the summit of Nanga Parbat, which stands at 8,126 metres, all the way to Base Camp without using supplementary oxygen.
The 38-year-old mountaineer reached the summit on June 30 before beginning a continuous ski descent through the famous Messner Route.
Completing such a demanding descent without additional oxygen is considered a remarkable achievement in the world of high-altitude mountaineering and skiing. The journey required exceptional skill, endurance, careful planning, and the ability to perform in extreme weather and challenging mountain conditions.
With this accomplishment, Bargiel has become the first person to ski down all five of Pakistan’s peaks that are higher than 8,000 metres without using supplemental oxygen.
