Pakistan Proposes Legal Tinted Car Windows For Public With Rs 15,000 Annual Permit Fee

Pakistan could soon introduce a major change to its vehicle regulations by allowing private citizens to legally install tinted car windows under the proposed Tinted Glass Permit Policy 2025.

According to the draft policy, private vehicle owners would be able to obtain a tinted glass permit by paying an annual fee of Rs. 15,000.

The proposal also states that current and former members of parliament would be eligible to receive these permits without any fee. In addition, the revised framework narrows eligibility for foreign applicants, limiting permits exclusively to accredited diplomats.

The proposed policy is currently under consultation with relevant stakeholders and has not yet received final approval.

If approved, it will establish a new nationwide framework outlining eligibility criteria, permit fees, application procedures, and regulations governing the legal use of tinted vehicle windows across Pakistan.

The government is expected to finalize the policy after completing the consultation process and reviewing stakeholder feedback.
