Pakistan’s textile sector has recorded a strong start to the new fiscal year, with exports reaching $1.81 billion in July 2026, according to provisional data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The July figure represents a 43.13% increase compared with June, when textile exports stood at $1.27 billion. On a yearly basis, exports were also 8.07% higher than the amount recorded in July 2025.
Knitwear remained the largest contributor to textile export earnings during the month, generating $533.84 million. Readymade garments followed with exports worth $459.99 million, while bedwear brought in $308.50 million.
Towels also showed notable growth during the month. Their exports increased by more than 60% on a monthly basis, reaching $106.36 million in July.
The latest figures indicate strong demand for Pakistan’s textile products at the beginning of the 2026–27 fiscal year. The growth has been particularly visible in value-added products, which generally generate higher export earnings compared with basic textile goods.
The improvement in textile exports could provide support to Pakistan’s overall external trade position and foreign exchange earnings. The sector remains an important part of the country’s export economy and plays a major role in manufacturing and employment.
The July performance also gives the textile industry positive momentum for the months ahead. However, maintaining this growth will depend on global demand, production costs, energy prices and the ability of exporters to remain competitive in international markets.
With exports rising across several major categories, the latest data provides an encouraging start to the new fiscal year and strengthens expectations for continued growth in Pakistan’s textile sector.
