Pakistan’s New Hajj Portal Collects Over Rs. 31 Billion in One Day

Pakistan’s newly introduced Hajj Portal has received more than Rs. 31 billion in payments within its first 24 hours, showing strong demand for the Government Hajj Scheme.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, more than 50,000 people submitted their Hajj applications on the opening day of registration. Payments were made through digital channels from different parts of the country, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad.

The online system has been introduced to make the registration and payment process easier for intending pilgrims. Applicants can submit payments through OneLink PSID, bank cards or manually generated bank challans, giving them several options to complete their transactions.

Under the Government Hajj Scheme, a total of 107,526 seats have been allocated for Pakistani pilgrims. Applications are being handled on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning the available places will be assigned as eligible applications are completed until the allocated quota is reached.

The strong response during the first day indicates significant interest among Pakistanis seeking to perform Hajj through the government programme. The large volume of applications and payments also reflects the growing use of digital services for important government processes.

Authorities are continuing to process applications through the newly launched portal as registration remains open. Applicants are expected to complete the required steps and payments within the given process to secure their place under the scheme.

With tens of thousands of applications already submitted, the Hajj registration process has started with a strong response. The ministry will continue processing applications until the available government quota is filled.
