During the first ten months of the fiscal year (2020-21), Pakistan earned 503.910 million USD by offering various transport services in different nations compared to last year’s period.
This is a 24.46 percent decline compared to $667.040 million in services for the same fiscal year (2019-20), as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
During the review period, exports of maritime transport services meanwhile climbed 56.5% to US$ 69.280 million over the period under review from US$ 44.250 million last year.
Among maritime transport services, cargo exports climbed by 1,37% to 28,160 million dollars, from 27,780 million dollars in the prior year, while other services of marine transport were also up 149.67%, from 16 470 million dollars to 41,120 million dollars in the current year, PBS data indicated.
However, air exports were reduced by 29.46%, from 582,190 million dollars last year to 410.680 million dollars between July-April (2020-21).
Exports of passenger service among air transport services decreased by 33.25%, from 399.220 million to 266.480 million dollars, while freight exports rose by 11.07%, from 23.300 million dollars to 2.880 million dollars, with a reduction of 25.90% from 159.670 million dollars, exports of other services of aviation to 118.320 million dollars.
It has highlighted that during the time under review, exports of road transport services saw a 46.66% fall from $29,210 million this year to $15,580 million.
Exports of goods services plummeted 59.60% from US $29.210 million to US $11.8 million in the fiscal year being reviewed, while exports of postal and courier services were down by 26.51% from the U. among road transport services.
