Pakistan are once again in serious trouble against England, facing a huge 389-run target in the second Test at Lord’s. England were bowled out for 208 in their second innings on Sunday, setting Pakistan a difficult task to win the match.
Pakistan’s chase got off to a poor start as England’s bowlers quickly removed three top-order batters. Azan Awais was dismissed for 6, Abdullah Shafique fell for a duck, while captain Babar Azam was out for 6. Babar tried to defend a short ball from Jofra Archer, but the ball hit his helmet and was caught at third slip.
Babar’s early dismissal has increased the pressure on Pakistan, especially after the team was bowled out for only 110 in its first innings. Pakistan had also suffered a heavy 103-run defeat in the first Test at Headingley.
At lunch, Pakistan were 53 for 3, with Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel at the crease. They still needed 336 more runs to win. England, meanwhile, are pushing for a 2-0 lead in the three-Test series.
