The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the CSS 2026 written examination on August 31, 2026, with only a small number of candidates making it through to the next stage.
The written exam was held from February 4 to 15, 2026. The results show that the examination remains one of Pakistan’s most competitive routes into the federal civil service.
A total of 24,321 candidates had applied for the written examination, while 17,351 appeared in at least one paper. Candidates who cleared the written stage will now move forward in the selection process.
The next stages include medical examination, psychological assessment and the viva voce. FPSC will announce the schedule for these stages separately and has advised successful candidates to regularly check its website for updates.
The CSS examination is conducted to select candidates for different occupational groups in Pakistan’s federal civil services. The written stage is a major screening point, with only candidates who qualify moving ahead to the remaining stages.
