Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has defended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz amid criticism surrounding her recent London trip.
Bukhari said Maryam personally paid around Rs. 1.25 crore toward the expenses from her own pocket.
The clarification follows questions over the reported use of the Punjab government’s official aircraft for what was described as a private family visit.
Bukhari rejected claims that public funds were used for the trip and maintained that the chief minister covered the expenses herself.
The issue has sparked debate over the use of government aircraft for private travel, with opposition figures continuing to call for greater transparency regarding the trip and its associated costs.
