Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz Hussain has again sought government intervention, warning that continued seizures and auctions of the company’s properties could put the investments of thousands of Pakistanis at risk.
In his latest appeal, Riaz asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other authorities to address the ongoing disputes through legal and institutional channels. He called for a halt to low-value auctions, transfers and possession of properties until the related cases are decided.
According to Riaz’s appeal, Bahria Town properties worth around Rs238.6 billion have been seized, auctioned or placed under disposal proceedings. He also claimed that development work worth nearly Rs372 billion has been affected, with investors, residents, employees, contractors and suppliers facing uncertainty.
Riaz has proposed allowing Bahria Town to resume development under transparent oversight. He said part of the revenue generated could be used to clear outstanding liabilities while protecting the interests of investors and other stakeholders.
The appeal comes amid ongoing action by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The bureau has investigated Bahria Town over allegations involving land, regulatory approvals and public deception. In May 2026, NAB also froze 3,150 acres linked to Bahria Town Karachi’s planned second project in Jamshoro.
