Ultimate Challenge! GCU Student Faizan Ahmed Faiz Complets 1,100-Km Run From Lahore to Skardu in 22 Days

Government College University (GCU) Lahore student Faizan Ahmed Faiz has completed a 1,100-kilometre run from Lahore to Skardu, covering the distance in 22 days. He reached Skardu on September 17 after crossing parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Faizan, a third semester Psychology student and member of the Falcon Triathlon Club, started the journey from GCU’s historic Clock Tower on August 28. His route included Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas and Raikot before reaching Skardu.

The journey involved long running stages, steep climbs, changing weather and difficult mountain terrain. GCU had earlier said Faizan had been running for around eight years and had completed an 800-kilometre run three months before this challenge.

Faizan dedicated the run to Pakistan’s armed forces and police martyrs. He also used the journey to raise awareness about drug abuse among young people and promote healthier lifestyles.
