Man Posing As A Doctor Arrested After Examining Women In The Emergency Labor Room At General Hospital In Lahore

Police have arrested a man who allegedly posed as a doctor and examined women inside the emergency labour room of Lahore General Hospital (LGH). The incident was reported on September 18, 2026.

According to the hospital administration, the man was wearing a doctor’s coat and entered the gynaecology emergency area, where he was examining women. The doctor on duty reported the incident to the Deputy Medical Superintendent and requested legal action. Police later detained the suspect from the hospital premises.

Separate reports identified the suspect as Hassan Ijaz, a resident of the Shalimar Town area of Lahore. Hospital sources said he had also been approaching patients and their attendants while claiming to be a doctor.

A case has reportedly been registered against him at Kot Lakhpat Police Station under Sections 419 and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which cover cheating by impersonation and cheating. Hospital authorities said action would be taken against anyone falsely presenting themselves as a doctor.
