Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has returned to the Asian Games podium after a 12-year gap, securing the bronze medal with a 31-run victory over Bangladesh at the 2026 Games in Japan.
Batting first, Pakistan posted 145 for 8 in their allotted overs. Captain Fatima Sana played a key role with a quick 45 off 30 balls, while Gull Feroza added 31 to help Pakistan set a competitive target.
Bangladesh struggled to keep pace during the chase and finished their innings at 114 for 7. Pakistan’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings, with Umm-e-Hani producing an impressive spell of 3 wickets for just 10 runs.
The victory earned Pakistan its third women’s cricket medal at the Asian Games. The team had previously won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 editions.
The bronze provides a boost for Pakistan’s women’s cricket team following its disappointing campaign at the Women’s Asia Cup earlier this month.
The players’ performance in Japan gives the team another international medal and marks a return to the Asian Games podium after more than a decade.
Pakistan will now look to build on the result as the women’s team continues its international campaign and prepares for upcoming challenges in the cricket calendar.
