Nearly 5.9 million citizens have registered for the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme as the government continues efforts to provide financial support to people facing higher fuel costs.
According to the latest figures, around 6.19 million relief tokens have been generated under the programme, while 4.79 million tokens have already been redeemed by eligible citizens across Pakistan.
The scheme is designed to provide targeted fuel assistance to owners of selected vehicles. Eligible vehicles include motorcycles, Qingqi rickshaws, regular rickshaws and cars with engine capacities of up to 800cc.
The registration and redemption figures indicate continued participation in the relief programme, with millions of citizens already receiving the available assistance.
The initiative comes as rising fuel prices have increased transportation expenses for households, daily commuters and small businesses. By focusing on smaller vehicles, the programme is aimed at supporting citizens who rely on these modes of transport for their daily travel and work.
