Pakistan will play Bangladesh in the men’s cricket semi final at the 2026 Asian Games on October 1 in Nisshin, Japan.
The match was confirmed after Bangladesh’s quarter final against Malaysia was called off due to heavy rain. Bangladesh moved into the semi final because it had a higher seeding in the tournament.
Pakistan also reached the semi final without playing its quarter final. Its match against Hong Kong, China was washed out by rain. Pakistan moved ahead because it had the higher ranking among the two teams.
This means both Pakistan and Bangladesh have reached the semi final without playing a quarter final match.
The semi final will be played at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Thursday. In the other semi final, India will face Sri Lanka. Pakistan’s cricket team is being led by Sahibzada Farhan in the tournament.
The men’s cricket final is scheduled for October 3. The bronze medal match will also be played on the same day. Pakistan will now be looking to secure a place in the final and compete for a medal at the Asian Games.
