Lt. Gen. (R) Nigar Calls for Full Financial Audit of KP’s Sehat Card Programme

Retired Lieutenant General Nigar Johar has called for a comprehensive financial audit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Sehat Card Programme, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in the management of public funds allocated to healthcare services.

She emphasised that the programme should continue providing medical facilities to eligible citizens without any disruption, ensuring that patients do not suffer due to administrative or financial reviews.

Johar also highlighted the importance of strengthening financial oversight to identify potential irregularities, prevent the misuse of public money and ensure that allocated resources are being utilised appropriately.

A thorough audit could help improve financial management and build greater public confidence in the programme.

Her remarks underline the importance of balancing accountability with the uninterrupted delivery of essential healthcare services, particularly for families who rely on the Sehat Card to access medical treatment.
