We Are Secretly Watching Your Every Click on Phone: NCCIA’s Director

Pakistanis have been warned that their online activities are under close watch, as the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) steps up its monitoring of social media platforms. Additional Director NCCIA Lahore Zone Atif Amir said the agency was keeping track of users’ online activity during a press conference.

Amir said the NCCIA has an active cyber patrolling unit that monitors social media applications twice a day, in the morning and evening. He stressed that the agency was focusing on three main areas, illegal call centres, social media posts and messages considered anti-state, and online harassment.

The agency is also targeting online content that damages people’s reputations and cases involving the harassment of women. Its efforts aim to identify suspicious online activities and take action against people suspected of cybercrime.

The warning highlights the growing attention being given to digital activity in Pakistan. Social media users are advised to think carefully before sharing content online, avoid spreading harmful material, and respect other people’s privacy. The NCCIA also investigates online fraud, blackmail and other forms of digital crime.
