A Pakistani university wants to build the country’s first AI hospital, with a Chinese partner.
Riphah International University is developing a strategic partnership with Tairex, an AI healthcare company incubated by Tsinghua University’s Institute for AI Industry Research, to bring its Agent Hospital system to Pakistan.
The cooperation would cover three areas:
Training: virtual consultation rooms where medical students and doctors practise on AI-simulated patients
Clinical support: AI doctor agents that assist physicians, who keep responsibility for medical decisions
Research, including patient follow-up studies
Speaking by video at the launch in Beijing on 21 October, Riphah Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan said the two sides would explore how AI can serve primary care, medical education and research.
