Both Pakistan and New Zealand have good ties, according to Kane Williamson, and the T20 World Cup encounter between the two teams “will be played in great spirits.”
“The focus now is on the T20 World Cup,” he said, “and no doubt, after Sunday night’s performance, Pakistan has some momentum and is feeling very good about their game.”
Williamson was asked if he believes there would be any acrimony or grudges during today’s match because of the circumstances that emerged after New Zealand pulled out of Pakistan’s trip last month.
When the excursion was cancelled, the captain described it as a “disappointing” circumstance.
On the night of the match, he said, “I know the team members were very much looking forward to the event and playing cricket in Pakistan, and it was “a great shame” that it wasn’t able to go through.”
