Haroon-ur-Rasheed, the Manager Agency Affairs of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), was arrested on Saturday by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for inflicting a Rs3 billion loss to the national exchequer by putting so-called Interactive Personal Application Device (iPads) aboard planes.
The PIA Manager Agency Affairs was arrested by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle, bringing the total number of people arrested in connection with the scheme to three.
According to an FIA officer, two suspects have already been apprehended in this investigation. The FIA has filed a FIR and stated that it is also investigating additional cases.
It’s worth noting that Haroon-ur-Rasheed formerly worked for UNDP Pakistan as a Manager In-Flight Entertainment (IDE), Assistant Manager (IFE), Advocacy Officer, and Junior Electronic Officer.
