China sent 30,000 food packets to alleviate poverty in Gilgit-Baltistan

The Chinese government has contributed 30,000 food packets to be distributed among Gilgit-underprivileged. Baltistan’s at a ceremony conducted here on Tuesday, the office-bearers of the Gilgit-Baltistan Overseas Chinese Association handed out food parcels to Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed.

The chief minister expressed his gratitude to the Chinese authorities for the initiative. He claimed that the Chinese government had been Pakistan’s finest friend through thick and thin.

Syed Agha Abdul Shakoor, the association’s chairman, said the Chinese in the United Kingdom were contributing to the region’s development. “The organisation has been working to develop ties between Pakistan and China for the past 30 years,” he added.
