Pakistan and China to expand agricultural cooperation under CPEC

Under the CPEC, Pkistan and China reiterated the need to increase agricultural cooperation. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and Federal Minister for NFSR Syed Fakhar Imam agreed, as per a study that when they met here a day earlier, there was a huge potential in the agricultural sector.

“It was a fruitful and productive meeting,” Chinese envoy Nong Rong tweeted, exchanging views on improving agricultural cooperation under the CPEC.

The second phase of the CPEC will concentrate on industrial cooperation, agriculture, science and technology, tourism and other areas. The government of Pakistan is keen on promoting agricultural cooperation under the CPEC.

The government believes a green revolution in Pakistan will offer enhanced cooperation with China in corporate and joint farming. Agriculture is the key avenue where Pakistan and China can cooperate to broaden and multiply their economic ties, Minister Syed Fakhar Imam said.
