Sports is one of the areas where there is a lot of hidden talent in Karachi and in Pakistan at large. In order to make sports more accessible, inclusive and diverse, K- Electric initiated “Khelo Shaan Se”, a two-day sports event for the youth including differently-abled children.

There were sports activities such as the 100 Meter Race, Long Jump, Javelin Throw & Discus Throw. Youth that participated in sports belonged to the areas of Orangi, Korangi, Lyari, Surjani, Gadap – where there is little or no access to sports activities. Youth coming from these underdeveloped areas are sometimes get involved in various unethical activities such as installing “kunda” in their areas that prove to be life threatening as well as harmful for the society at large.

To inspire these kids and to further hone their potential, K-Electric engaged Athletes of Pakistan as mentors including Fatima Hussain, Haider Ali and Naseem Hameed who were present to encourage and motivate the participants.

Needless to say that this event was the talk of the town on Sunday 12th Dec, 2021 – #KheloShaanSe and trended no. 1 on Twitter. The event was a massive success.

K-Electric with this initiative has won millions of hearts, and paved the way for other organizations in Pakistan to come forward and take lead in enhancing strengths and abilities of youth of our country by using sports as a catalyst.
