After a memorandum of agreement was signed between the province government, State Life Insurance, and Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre, patients from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) are scheduled to receive free liver and kidney transplantation services (PKLI&RC).
The service would be provided through the province government’s Sehat Insaf Card scheme, according to the official release.
It stated that the provincial government would pay Rs5 million for a liver transplant and Rs1.4 million for a kidney transplant for each patient.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan called the action a “gift for the people of the province,” saying that cancer treatment would be included under the health card plan in the near future.
