Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, claimed on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is the first Western leader to show concern for Muslim views on the revered Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Prime Minister Imran Khan took to twitter to thank Russian President Vladimir Putin for his “emphatic assertion that freedom of expression could not be used as a justification to disrespect our Prophet PBUH.”
The Prime Minister praised Russian President Vladimir Putin’s earlier statement that “insulting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not “freedom of expression,” saying that Putin is the first western leader to show empathy and sensitivity to Muslim world emotions.
PM Imran Khan said he has been routinely stressing the horrific rise in Islamophobia and related intolerance in his addresses to the UN General Assembly, pointing to its serious repercussions, in a telephonic discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
