Senator Azam Khan Swati, the Minister of Railways, has stated that the Main Line-1 (ML-1) project is the country’s economic backbone.
During a lengthy briefing to the National Assembly’s Railways Standing Committee, he confirmed this.
The Standing Committee on Railroads, chaired by MNA Muhammad Moeen Wattoo, met today in Islamabad to discuss issues connected to the railways ministry.
According to the minister, the PSDP for the year 2022-23 approved projects worth Rs. 46.2 billion, with Rs. 37.750 billion in ongoing projects and Rs. 18.450 billion in new projects.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he claims, has set out Rs. 10 billion for the development of the ML-1 project (CPEC).
