In Pakistan, gaming is still perceived to be a sector with little growth. But the numbers representing the growth in the gaming industry in Pakistan tells a whole different story!
In the billion-dollar tech industry, the share of gaming is miniscule. However, the local gaming industry has seen a boom recently. Last year alone, the revenues were more than $25 million with top gaming companies like FRAG, GenITeam, The Game Storm Studios, NARSUN studios & Game District working on international projects with Netflix, Lego, NFL and many more.
In the E-sport arena, Pakistani Gamers, such as, Sumail Hassan have earned more than $3.8 million playing Dota 2. That’s 67 CRORES! While globally the game development sector is a $218 billion industry, in Pakistan, the Gaming Studios are just getting started in achieving highly ambitious growth plans.
Fast forward to August 2021, when Pakistan saw the launch of the World’s First Instructor-Led Junior Developer Program by Unity in collaboration with Game Train and Foundation for Youth Employment Pakistan. Unity is the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D content and the engine behind 50% of the world’s leading mobile games in partnership with Game Train, an industry-led initiative to bring all the major studios together and Foundation for Youth Employment Pakistan launched the first batch of 80+ learners after an intensive recruitment process which saw 7000+ applications from across Pakistan.
They have now graduated their first batch a with a record-breaking job placement of 80% of the batch within 40 days from graduation with 17+ Hiring Partners. The Graduates are now part of Pakistan’s most prestigious Gaming Studios, and ready to become Pakistan’s next Game Changers!
