The Executive Board of the National Highway Authority (NHA) has approved the yearly maintenance plan (AMP) 2021-22, which totals Rs 53.558 billion, plus Rs 21.014 billion in carry over obligations from previous AMPs.
According to sources, the consent was given during a Board meeting headed by Capt Muhammad Khurram Agha (retired), Chairman NHA.
The NHA Executive Board has authorized a ten percent increase in routine maintenance funding and a ten percent increase in highway safety funding.
The Board discussed the consultant’s drafting of a business strategy, which had been authorised by the NHA Executive Board.
The following items were approved by the NHA Executive Board: a. Withdrawal of NHA’s offer letter to M/s KPMG Taseer Hadi& Co; b. Refer the matter to the NHA Board’s Audit Committee, which will investigate other options for moving forward in the matter and make a recommendation at the next Board meeting.
The Board directed that action be taken against M/s KPMG Taseer Hadi & Company for his non-compliance with the current norms.
