National Security Committee Finds no Foreign Conspiracy against Imran Khan Government

The National Security Committee (NSC) said Friday there was no foreign conspiracy behind the ouster of the PTI-led government.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office press release, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the NSC meeting, where the telegram received from the Pakistani Embassy in Washington was discussed in detail.

Former Pakistani Ambassador to Washington, Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, also briefed the meeting on the context of his diplomatic cable.

The statement read: “After examining the content of the communication, the NSC confirmed the decision of the last NSC meeting.” The NSC was again informed by the significant security agencies that they had found no evidence of a conspiracy.

“As a result, the NSC believes that there was no foreign conspiracy after evaluating the letter’s contents, the evaluation received, and the conclusions offered by the security agencies.”
