Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali said plans to launch a BRT service on the ring road from Hayatabad to Warsak Road to provide better transportation options for commuters.
On Sunday, he spoke at a meeting with TransPeshawar CEO Fayyaz Khan and KP Urban Mobility Authority Finance Director Aamir Shaukat Ali, also attended by Haroon Siffat, President of Tehsil Pishtakhara, and Finance Director of Peshawar Municipal Government.
The city’s mayor said work to launch the shuttle service would begin soon to provide people with the best transportation options. Steps will be taken to use more BRT buses on various feeder routes.
During the meeting, the Executive Director of TransPeshawar briefed that the city mayor on the BRT service, routes, workforce, purchase of more buses, transportation facilities, maintenance of the vehicles, system security, cleaning, and special seat assignments for Women and transgender people on the BRT buses.
The mayor welcomed the allocation of separate seats for women and transgender people on BRT buses and aimed to ensure better facilities for women and transgender people.
