Army Chief Gen Bajwa Witnesses National Hockey Championship Final in Lahore

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), witnessed the finale match of the first COAS National Inter Club Hockey Championship 2022 held in Lahore recently, as per military.

Numerous hockey legends and Olympians were present in the final match to support the come back of the national game of Pakistan and admire the joint initiative of Pakistan Army and Pakistan Hockey Federation as talent hunt for sportsmen around Pakistan, as per the ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations).

The finale match would be between Lahore and Malir Hockey Clubs added further by the military’s media wing.

An exciting match was witnessed between Rana Zaheer hockey club Lahore and Youth Hockey Club Malir Karachi, Rana Zaheer hockey club defeated Youth Hockey Club Malir Karachi.

Champion trophy with medals was presented to the winning team by the chief guest, ISPR confirmed further.

On a championship, individual prizes to the best player of the winning team, best goalkeeper, most goal scoring player, defender and best forward player were also presented.

To support the national game comeback and talented players across the country, several representative of the club’s from the remote areas of Pakistan were met by the COAS, as per the statement.

718 club’s from 72 districts and 28 divisions took part in the championship from all around the country consisting of four stages i.e district, divisional, provincial and finally wind up at the national level, concluded by ISPR.
