1 Crore People Become Homeless & 90% of Crops Have Been Destroyed by the Rains, CM Sindh

A recent heavy rains destroyed 90% of crops and displaced 10million people, said by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

In a press conference held in Sukkur, Chief Minister informed that 600% more than normal received in Sindh this year, in July more than normal 350% received this year whereas, August has witnessed 600% more rain.

Murad informed that more than 1 core people are homeless due to rain, percent of farmers have lost their crops is difficult to calculate livestock, which is affected by rain. 300+ people have lost their lives, more than 1000 people have been injured and 1.5 million village jhuggies have been destroyed.

Further, he said he have visited 23 districts of the province. The entire Indus is currently presenting a river scene from Sukkur. However, a flood rail of 6 lakh cusecs is currently passing through Sukkur.

Furthermore, he said that Sindh government is utilizing all its resources to support flood victims, supporters should help as per their capacity. 1 million tents are required for flood victims.

Murad informed about the problems that victims are facing, he informed that it is difficult to cook due to lack in gas supply, meanwhile he is trying to provide cooked food to the victims.

Chief Minister appealed that it’s a time where lot of patience and courage needed, nation should support the government in this difficult occasion, keep maintained law and order environment.

He confirmed that Prime Minister is in touch with the Sindh government in order to support the victims.
