For the first time since 1992, Pakistan and England will play each other in an ICC World Cup match. In the 1992 ICC World Cup final between the two sides, Pakistan prevailed to win their first cricket championship.
Heavy rain has been forecast on Sunday when Pakistan and England are scheduled to play in the T20 World Cup final here at the MCG. There is currently a 100% chance of rain forecast for Sunday with between 8mm to 20mm prediction.
“Very high (near 100%) chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe,” read the Bureau of Meteorology website on Friday evening.
Monday has been designated as a reserve day, but with a 95% chance of rain between 5 and 10mm, that day may also be questionable. The winners will split the trophy if the reserve day is also wiped out.
The number of screenings being held across the country is increasing as Team Green prepares to face England in the final. According to sources, some screeners decide to play “Legend of Maula Jatt” as a backup if the Pak vs. Eng final gets washed out.
