After the Censor Board of Federal Certification (CBFC) green-lit Saim Sadiq’s Joyland, Punjab Censor Board has now banned the film.
Pakistan’s Oscar submission release was previously stopped after ‘several complaints.’
The board has directed Sarmad Sultan Khoosat not to release the film.
Section-9, 1 and 2 (a) and (b) of the Motion Pictures Ordinance, 1979 and the rules made thereunder, the government has decided to re-call Joyland “in the wake of persistent complaints received from different quarters”.
