World’s First Hydrogen Powered Train Launched In China with Top Speed 160 Km/h

CRRC Changchun Railway Co. and Chengdu Rail Transit jointly constructed the world’s first hydrogen-energy urban train, which officially rolled off the assembly line in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, in southwest China on Wednesday.

With a top speed of 160 kph, the train adopted the essential core technology of the Fuxing bullet train.

According to Chengdu Daily, the train has a built-in “hydrogen power” technology that offers a powerful and reliable power source with a 600-kilometer battery life.

A key new energy option to support the “dual carbon” plan is hydrogen energy, which is clean and has no carbon dioxide emissions.
