Pakistan Offers Assistance to Turkey as Deadly Earthquake kills over 350

After a powerful earthquake killed over 1400 people in Turkey and Syria, the Pakistani government offered assistance. A strong earthquake hit south-eastern Turkiye, near the border with Syria, injuring hundreds as buildings collapsed across the region, triggering searches for survivors in the rubble.

Islamabad offered assistance as the death toll is expected to climb as information trickles in from remote areas of southeast Turkey. Graphics doing the rounds on the internet show buildings reduced to rubble with bodies lying on the ground.

In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences to the government and the people of Turkey for the huge loss. Islamabad stands in solidarity with its Turkish brethren in this hour of grief, he said, recalling Ankara’s support for Pakistan in every hour of difficulty.

According to Sharif, his government will do everything necessary to aid Turkiye.
In light of an increase in natural disasters brought on by climate change, the prime minister reiterated the need for international cooperation and urged the world community to take action to ensure the survival of humanity.
